Saltwater charters for Silvers consistently produce limits of dime bright ocean-fresh fish that are hard to beat by any standards. This is a great family friendly trip in an amazing setting of the rugged glacier capped Chugach Mountains as the background. Most of the salmon fishing in Valdez Alaska is done in protected bays and makes for very calm seas and a great fishing experience.

You may have heard the Alaskan expression “There are so many salmon you could walk across the water on their backs and not get wet” This explains the pink and silver runs of Valdez very well. You can expect non-stop action on our salmon charters. For silvers and pinks we offer 3/4 day trips, because that is all you will need to get tired out by reeling these fish in.

Our Fishing Style

Silvers generally weight in at 10 pounds, but the derby winners are up in the 18-20 pound range. These fish are known for their fighting ability and acrobatics as you work them to the boat.

We spend our days within 30 miles of Valdez, and much of the time within 10 miles of the harbor.  We do most of our fishing by trolling for salmon, with both down riggers and diver plates.  This is a great way to catch silver salmon in salt water and also a great way for beginner fisherman to easily enjoy fishing salmon in Alaska.

July 22 – Sept. 5 : $295 – 3/4 Day Silver Salmon

We offer silver salmon trips Daily Aboard “NoName” and ” with 5 people per vessel. 

We depart the slip at 7:00 a.m and return around 3pm.

You will need to have your fishing license (can be purchased online) before getting to the boat.

AGE MINIMUM: We have an age minimum of 10 years old on our charters, UNLESS you are purchasing all 4 seats on the boat for your group. If you purchase the whole boat then we do not have any age restrictions.

What do you need to bring?

– Fishing License (can be purchased online)
– Warm Clothing, Rain Gear, Water-Proof Boots recommended but not required (like Xtratufs)
– Drinks, Snacks and Lunch
– Prescription Medicines/Sea Sick Medication
– Alcoholic Drinks if desired (no glass for safety purposes)
– Cash, to purchase a derby ticket on board the boat ($10 and optional)
– Cash, to pay the fish filleters when you return (usually $1 per salmon)
– Cash, if you would like to tip your captain

Fishing Cleaning & Processing

We will schedule a Professional Fish Cutter to meet us at the dock after your day of fishing, they charge $1-$5 per fish depending on size/species. It is worth every penny! After your fish is cut you can use a cart to bring it just down the street to Fish Central for Vacuum Sealing and Flash Freezing to get the most out of your great catch. They even ship FedEx if you need it mailed home.

Cancellation Policy:

Customers will receive a full refund if notice of cancellation is more than 14 days before the scheduled trip. If less than 14 days you forfeit a $100 deposit fee per person and any associated online booking fee, and if less than 5 days you will be charged full price. Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis. Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation.

Weather Days or Mechanical Issues: We refund 100% of your charter if we must cancel due to weather or mechanical issues.
